Magnify is compatible with virtually any business phone system that supports SMDR (Station Message Detail Recording) or CDR (Call Detail Records) output. This includes popular platforms such as Cisco CallManager / CUCM, Avaya Communication Manager, Mitel MiVoice, NEC SV9000 series, Panasonic KX-NS series, ShoreTel / Mitel Connect, and many others.
Our lightweight Collector service runs on a Windows machine on your local network and receives the raw call records your PBX already produces. No modifications to your phone system are required. The Collector is a standard Windows service installed via a single MSI package. Any IT staff member comfortable with basic Windows administration can complete the install in under ten minutes. It runs silently in the background with no user interface, consumes minimal CPU and memory, and automatically reconnects if the network connection to the PBX drops.
The Collector only needs outbound HTTPS access to forward records to Magnify's cloud backend — it does not require inbound firewall rules or VPN configuration.
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption in Azure SQL Database. Each customer's data is logically isolated — there is no shared data store between accounts.
The Magnify platform is hosted on Microsoft Azure infrastructure in the United States. We maintain regular backups with point-in-time recovery, and our services are monitored 24/7. We do not sell or share your call records with any third party.
Magnify retains full call detail records for a rolling 24-month period on all paid plans. Within the application you can run reports and AI queries across your entire history at any time.
If you need longer retention for compliance or audit purposes, contact us about our extended retention add-on, which supports up to 7 years of searchable history.
The Collector service buffers call records locally in a durable queue when it cannot reach the Magnify cloud backend. As soon as your internet connection is restored, the Collector automatically flushes the queue and uploads any records that accumulated during the outage — no manual intervention required and no records lost.
The local buffer can hold several days' worth of call records, so even extended outages won't result in data loss for typical call volumes.
Yes. Multi-site support is available on the Standard and Professional plans. Each site has its own Collector instance and its own extension directory, but all sites feed into a single unified dashboard. You can view call data for a single site, compare sites side-by-side, or roll everything up into consolidated reports across your entire organization.
Customers on Starter or Basic who later add a second location can upgrade their plan at any time — unused days on your current billing cycle are prorated automatically.
Magnify's AI layer lets you ask questions about your call data in plain English — no SQL, no pivot tables, no waiting for a report to be built. Type a question like "Which department had the highest average call duration last month?" or "Show me all calls to area code 212 that lasted over five minutes this quarter" and the AI translates your question into a query, runs it against your data, and presents the results in a readable format, often with a chart or table.
The AI has full access to your account's call history and extension directory. It understands Magnify's data model natively, so it correctly interprets business terms like "department," "hunt group," or "after-hours calls" in the context of your specific configuration.
Yes — we offer a 30-day free trial on any plan, no credit card required. You get full access to every feature your selected plan includes, and your data carries over automatically when you subscribe at the end of the trial.

You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time from the account settings page. Plan changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the difference is prorated and charged immediately so you have access to the new plan's features right away.
If you cancel, your account and data remain accessible in read-only mode until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that, data is retained for 90 days in case you decide to reactivate, then permanently deleted.
